This is me.
Writer. Content creator. Human rights advocate. Social media specialist. Pop culture enthusiast. Lover of the outdoors. Reader. Lifelong student.
All of that to say - hi, I’m Makayla Stover. I’m a native of Cincinnati, OH; although, I’ve always known that my story would stretch far beyond the midwestern city I’ve almost always called home. I’m currently residing in Denver, CO and working at Ogilvy. Following my successful completion of the 2022 Associates Program, I transitioned into the role of Associate Project Manager.
I earned a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati in Communication, with a minor in Sociology and certificates in Digital Engagement and Public Relations. Through this mouthful of an academic curriculum that I put together for myself, I was able to meet at the intersection of all of my major interests and passions to form the higher education experience of my dreams.
I have always dreamed of writing being my full-time gig. As a child, I aspired to publish my own books. As a pre-teen, I combed through magazines and newspapers longing for my own column of expertise one day. In high school, my political organizing and advocacy efforts led me to thoughts of a career in political and nonprofit communications. As an undergraduate student, I worked alongside both B2B consultants and major movie studio executives in the internships of my dreams. As a young adult just beginning my career, none of these dreams have abandoned me.
As all of these years have passed me by and what I would consider being my ‘dream job’ has ebbed and flowed with them, one thing has remained true in the midst of it all. I am a messenger. I am a storyteller. I am an advocate.
